Call for Nominations

Women employed by Pima County and City of Tucson are eligible to be nominated for the 2018 Women in Government Awards, presented by the Pima County/Tucson Women's Commission. The Award Categories are listed below. This is an excellent opportunity to recognize the accomplishments of your female colleagues!

To make your nomination, use the form below and provide a narrative of the nominee’s accomplishments. Up to three (3) letters of support may be attached to the nomination form.

You may submit as many nominations as you wish, however, we ask that you nominate an employee in only one category - unless they are also included in a team nomination for the Synergy Award. For example do not nominate the same person for awards in both Leadership and Unsung Heroine.

Awards will be presented at a luncheon ceremony on Friday, September 21, 2018, at the Tucson Convention Center Copper ballroom. All nominees will be acknowledged at the event and are invited to attend with their nominator. (Due to space limitations, we are unable to accommodate additional guests.)

Leadership Award
The Leadership Award will be presented to a woman who has demonstrated extraordinary leadership in public service.

Unsung Heroine
The Unsung Heroine Award will be presented to a woman who works with exceptional effectiveness behind the scenes to help accomplish the mission of government.

Rising Star Award
The Rising Star Award will be presented to a woman who has, in the early stages of her public service career, performed exceptionally and demonstrated significant potential as a future leader.

Synergy Award
The Synergy Award will be presented to a team of women who worked together to achieve a specific goal, such as implementing a new program.
